Chico Yo-Yo Company was located in Chico, California. All the machining, design, and assembly of their yo-yos was also done in-house.

The first edition from Chico Yo-Yo Company was the Bull Dog in 2009. It was a dead (unresponsive), precision machined aluminum yo-yo that had plenty of rim weight for long spins, a size C ball bearing axle, and a beautiful marbled finish in green and brown. It was slightly undersized at 50.8 mm diameter and weighed 66 grams.

The version in this exhibit was the second edition of the Bull Dog. The finish work on the yo-yo features a two-tone marbled blue and purple marbleing and a hand finished 'pinstripe' (the silver ring; anodizing was simply sanded off) to further set-off the engraved branding. It was available in both shiny and matte finishes depending on your play preference. The matte (sandblasted) finish was best for grinds.

The Bull Dog used a clean, ABEC-5 aircraft grade bearing while response was accomplished with hand poured silicone rings. You could replace the silicone with commonly available, pre-made response pads, if preferred.

This second edition came in four versions: Shiny finish in red-black marble; matte finish in red-black marble; shiny finish in blue-purple marble (seen in this exhibit); and a matte finish in blue-purple marble.

Originally released January, 2010

Original retail price: $105 US.
