In Japanese, 44 can be read as "yo-yo." The 44 is a standard, full metal, undersized yo-yo from YoYoFactory.

The number 44 is often seen in the yo-yo world, but it isn't clear as to why. In Japanese, numbers are often used to create words. While 44 is read as yon yon normally, it has been adopted by the yo-yo community to read "yo-yo" instead. To the Japanese players, it does not get any more straightforward than this. This yo-yo's width, diameter, and weight are all standard for an undersized yo-yo. Its size is close to the Chaotic or Messiah, making it ideal for intricate string tricks. It has a rounded, bowtie shape (also know as "organic"), popular since the days of the Duncan Freehand. Instead of the hubstacks found on the YoYoFactory 888, the 44 has a slight bulge around the axle similar to the YoYoFactory Primo. It also has a slightly lower edge than the YoYoFactory 888.

Other than the blue/black version, the 44 came in the fundaMETAL series white/black packaging.

Released April, 2010.

Original retail price: $90 US.
