Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!
If you're a manufacturer, or just a big collector and you want to help support the Museum drop me at line at chimera@yoyomuseum.com

A Walt Disney Character yo-yo with a circular trio of Mickey Mouse heads on a red background, printed on a paper disk. The front of the card has a red background with Mickey Mouse throwing a "Sleeper" and Pluto playing with a yo-yo and Donald Duck in the background. Originally sold for 49 cents. The slogan on the card reads If it isn't Duncan it isn't yo-yo, a change from its former If it isn't a Duncan, it isn't a yo-yo slogan. Used a starburst response and a fixed, metal axle
The opposite side of the yo-yo has a colorful starburst design radiating from the center, also printed on a paper disk. The entire yo-yo is enclosed by clear plastic body halves. This yo-yo was a Duncan Imperial Junior (No. 450), just with Disney branding on one side. It was a smaller diameter yo-yo, but similar in shape to the slightly larger Duncan Imperial - No. 400.
Of historical interest...
Besides the regular edition of the Imperial Junior yo-yo, Duncan also turned the same model into a series of three different mouse-based yo-yos from Walt Disney. All three models used the same starburst design on the opposite side. The mouse-based yo-yos included the following:
1 – Mickey Mouse's head with Mickey Mouse Club in black text above the character's head.
2 – Heads of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with their respective names in black text above their respective heads.
3 – Trio of Mickey Mouse heads on a red background; no text.
Besides the three different mouse yo-yos, Duncan made two different Mickey Mouse cards to go with the yo-yos:
A – Walt Disney Character Duncan Yo-Yo Return Top in black text, model No. 451, 49 cents. Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and Donald Duck appear on front of card.
B – Duncan Official Mickey Mouse Club Yo-Yo Return Top in black text, model No. 1451, 59 cents. Mickey Mouse and the Mickey Mouse Club emblem appear on front of card.
And here are a few of the yo-yo + card combinations that I have come across:
1+B in polybag
2+A in polybag
3+B in polybag
3+B in bubble blister
3+A in polybag
Whether these yo-yo + card combinations were by design, by error, or completely random is unknown. | |
