This is a 2022 Duncan Hornet yo-yo featuring customized side cap designs for two Japanese yo-yo players: one side honors Ryuya Kaneko (known online as K-Cat), and the other features Mai Kurihara. The two are a married duo and represent Duncan's Team Hornet in Japan (accessed May 16, 2023). This exclusive edition was sold only through the YoYo Maniax webstore in Japan.

First introduced in 2012, the Hornet was Duncan’s flagship looping yo-yo, designed to serve everyone from complete beginners to professional-level players. It featured adjustable inner washers (spacers) that let users fine-tune the yo-yo's response. Players could remove one or both washers and oil the bearing to increase responsiveness, depending on their preferred looping style or trick set. The Hornet is known for its looping stability and decent sleep time, even allowing for some string trick play.

This version has a translucent red body paired with translucent purple side caps, giving it a striking contrast and appearance. It was shipped as a polybagged bulk item and did not include official Duncan or YoYo Maniax packaging.
