The Peter Fish Pamela was a plastic, slimline yo-yo released in 1996. Each black body half was paired with a clear side cap, and the cavity between them was filled with a small amount of adaptable silicone putty—glow in the dark no less. The idea behind the design was that, during play—whether spinning or looping—the silicone would redistribute itself evenly, helping to create a perfectly balanced yo-yo.

Although never officially confirmed by the company, the name Pamela was widely believed to be a reference to Canadian model and actress Pamela Anderson, who at the time was a prominent celebrity known for her role on Baywatch. Notably, she underwent breast implant surgery twice in the 1990s, which some speculated inspired the yo-yo’s name due to the silicone filling inside.

In 1996–1997, the Pamela was sold through Infinite Illusions (yoyoguy.com) through their print catalog and early online store. In 1997, rumors began circulating on yo-yo forums that Peter Fish was either facing a lawsuit or had been ordered to remove the name "Pamela" from the yo-yo—allegedly out of deference to the actress. These rumors were never confirmed by any primary source, but they caused a stir and the yo-yo sold out quickly. I personally tried to order one from Infinite Illusions but missed out.

A few months later, a rebranded version—now called the Silicone Glow Yo—appeared both online and in brick-and-mortar stores across the U.S. It took me more than 25 years of on-and-off searching to finally find another original, mint Pamela.

The yo-yo was manufactured in Sydney, Australia, by Peter Fish & Company Proprietary Limited. It featured a wooden transaxle sleeve, starburst response, and, like all Peter Fish yo-yos at the time, was a take-apart model.
