Duncan FreeHand Zero - 2004 National Yo-Yo Contest edition. Solid red body with what appears to be clear sidecaps and white imprint. Supposedly 250 of this version were made. The contest was held in Chico, California, Saturday, October 2, 2004.
In 2004, Steve Brown, who was also working for Duncan, began to introduce the new Duncan FreeHand Zero (FHZ) yo-yo to the world. The FreeHand Zero was successor to the original and very popular Duncan Freehand yo-yo from 2001.
Molded after the body of the original FreeHand, the Zero is a wide, butterfly-shape yo-yo; allowing for forgiving play and better stability. The ball bearing axle has been refined for maximum spin time while the weight has been re-distributed for optimum play. Each FH Zero came with three different counterweights. The included three counterweights in my version is a standard-sized yellow die, a blue rubber ball, and a sculpted character head of Steve Brown.
I assume the logo on the opposite sidecap is the standard FreeHand Zero logo printed in white, same text color as sidecap color on the opposite side.
