The Hummingbird Nature in Motion was a work horse yo-yo model of Hummingbird Toy Company out of Arcade, New York during the 1980s until about 1994. The three-piece, fixed axle yo-yo was made out of eastern hard rock maple and had a semi-gloss clear coat applied to the body halves. The packaging included a velour, draw-string carrying pouch, an extra cotton yo-yo string, and the Nature in Motion yo-yo trick booklet.

Note that the box was labeled with Classic which was a bit of a misnomer because this same box was also used for the Smothers Brothers in Concert 1988 model. The term Classic helped identify the shape of the yo-yo. Many manufacturers use the "classic" shape to make their wooden yo-yos. The shape was first popularized by Duncan's Genuine Tournament. When people think of a yo-yo, it is usually the "classic" or "tournament" shape.

From the 1993 Hummingbird catalog:
"From the simplest to the most complicated yo-yo tricks, this [Classic] yo-yo is specifically designed and balanced for optimum feel in trick performing. Masterfully crafted of domestic Rock Maple wood, this pure unadorned wooden yo-yo is finished with a clear protective coating which enhances the color and grain."

Original retail price: $7 US.
