Duncan Yo-Yo Contest, First Place ribbon and accompanying Playground Champion pin. Originated from California. Both items are uncommon Duncan yo-yo contest awards. Duncan award patches were far more common. It is unknown if there was a second and third place award ribbon.

Notice that the year 1961 was also added to the pin. The pin is made from solid brass and quite heavy for its size. The profile of the pin shows that it was made to look like a yo-yo, too.

Nylon award ribbons, similar to the one shown in this exhibit, were quite popular in the 1960s, especially at an elementary school's Sports Day (sometimes known as Field Day, too).
