This is the oldest Eagle patch from Cheerio, I was told from the 40's. It's also a velour patch, fuzzy, like the giant Duncan Eagle patches. Typically, instructor patches were worn by Cheerio demonstrators for advertising, and not given away as an award at contests. This makes all instructor patches rare, but this one is very hard to find.
It's also another patch where a template was used. This patch is also from the collection of Barney Ryan, Cheerio/Hi-Ker demonstrator. Notice in this case, Hi-Ker was sewn into the top of the patch, for a Hi-Ker promotion.
