Pepsi-sponsored first, second, and third place yo-yo contest award ribbons from Sidewinder Sales Company run by Bob Allen, a former professional yo-yo demonstrator for Duncan. These ribbons were only awarded at yo-yo contests held in the state of California in the 1960s. You could enter the state-wide contest at your nearest playground. When you did, you received a brochure outlining the contest tricks. Pepsi helped sponsor these contests with the idea that a state champion would be crowned each year. Among the many prizes you could win–besides ribbons–were cash scholarships, transistor radios, pen sets, trophies, and Ring-A-Tac-Toe games.
