Beginning in 1997 and continuing through the yo-yo boom that lasted into 2000, Moose emerged as the leading yo-yo brand in Australia. The company produced several collectible models, including the tournament-style Tornado Glitter 4000, which became a standout during that era.

One of the most unusual releases was the Vaporizer Scent 1000, a yo-yo made from scented plastic. To date, it remains the only scented yo-yo I'm aware of. Released during the late 1990s craze, it came in four fragrances and associated colors: yellow (banana), orange (orange), blue (bubble gum), and pink (strawberry). The Vaporizer featured a tournament-shaped body, fixed metal axle, and traditional cotton string.

For a brief period, Moose yo-yos were available at Walmart in the USA, further boosting their visibility during the global resurgence of yo-yo popularity in the late '90s.

From moosetoys.com:
"Tuesday, April 15, 1997 - The All New Yo-Yo Craze - Yes folks, yo-yos are back. With a vengeance. As you have probably already noticed, people everywhere are trying to "walk the dog" or "rock the cradle", and in fact for plenty of people those things are a breeze. Yo-yos are currently the largest craze to hit countries around the world since the 1970s.

Moose is the leading brand of yo-yos in Australia, having developed collectable varieties like the Tornado Glitter 4000 and the chrome-plated Ultrasonic 2000, sporting some fantastic features such as glow-in-the-dark exterior and a variety of sweet-smelling scents!

Lisa Thomas, National Sales and Marketing Manager at Moose, calculates the sales of yo-yos to have tripled since June [1996] and predicts they will sell strongly for a long while yet."
