A collectible, yo-yo-themed trading card from a 1992 Sesame Street trading card set, specifically card #41 featuring Bert with a yo-yo. The set, produced by Idolmaker Inc., was released in 1992 and featured 100 full-color cards—sold in packs of 10, with 36 packs per box. The cards highlighted characters and educational themes, covering letters, numbers, and scenes like the circus, farm, wild west, zoo, and yes, even yo-yos.
The front of the card shows the letter "Y" prominently, teaching children vocabulary through association. It features Bert, one of the classic Muppet characters, tangled up in yo-yo string while holding a red and white striped yo-yo. The caption reads: Y Bert with a Yo-yo, reinforcing the phonetic lesson.
The back of the card is titled "BERT'S YO-YO", with a humorous quote attributed to Bert: "I just love my new yo-yo. Ernie is teaching me how to do tricks with it. He says this trick is called 'Around the World.' He also said he’d come back soon and untangle me. Where is he? Ernie! Ernie!"
Copyright and production details at the bottom show it was made by the Children's Television Workshop and Jim Henson Productions, Inc., and printed in Canada. | |
