The YoYo Ball Kooky Creature was a unique yo-yo because you never had to rewind the string and it always came back to your hand. But this particular version was made even more interesting with the addition of a black rubber bat whose body encircled the ball and its two wings dangled and wiggled off the sides of the body. The overall affect while throwing the yo-yo was definitely one of attention-grabbing; it was great fun for kids! You could remove the Kooky Creature bat from the ball for original YoYo Ball play.

Based on the diameter of the yellow trademarked "O" ring tied to the end of the string, this yo-yo was intended for young children. The back of the YoYo Ball packaging states, Patent Pending, referring to the "O" ring. Later versions of the YoYo Ball packaging are printed with US patent number 5,127,868 for a Holder and controller for yo-yo type toys.

Marchon also made a version of the YoYo Ball with a black rubber arachnid that had eight floppy legs.
