This Master yo-yo, including the packaging, bears remarkable similarity to the Duncan Professional yo-yo from the same time period (mid to late 1980s). The similarity suggests that Tsukuda may have had a licensing agreement with Duncan, though this is unconfirmed. Slimline style has red rims, fixed wood axle, and clear sidecap lens'. Sold only in Japan.

About Tsukuda Original
Tsukuda Original was a Japanese toy and game manufacturer, established in 1973 as a division of the Tsukuda Group. The company gained significant recognition for popularizing the board game Reversi under the trademarked name "Othello," introducing the modern rules and distinctive green, black, and white color scheme that are now universally associated with the game.

Beyond Othello, Tsukuda Original was known for a diverse range of products, including the Rubik's Cube, for which they served as the official distributor in Japan. They also developed electronic games and consoles, notably the Othello Multivision in 1983—a licensed clone of Sega's SG-1000 console that came bundled with the game Othello.

In the 1990s, the company expanded its offerings to include toys like the "Air Water Gun" series, various board games and, yes, even a variety of yo-yo models. However, due to financial challenges within the Tsukuda Group, Tsukuda Original became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai in 2002. Subsequently, the company underwent several mergers and name changes, eventually becoming part of MegaHouse, a Bandai Namco Group company.

Original retail price: $ USD.
