In 2011, Duncan, in collaboration with Bandai, introduced the Metalbullet yo-yo as part of Bandai's Hyper Yo-Yo line in Japan. This model served as an upgraded version of the Woodbullet, offering enhanced performance features for yo-yo enthusiasts. The Duncan equivalent was the Bumble Bee.
The MetalBullet is crafted from durable plastic and incorporated a size A ball bearing axle, along with plastic spacers and a Duncan Friction Pad response system. This design meant it could be used for both looping and sleeping-based tricks, providing versatility for various play styles. The inclusion of the ball bearing axle system in the MetalBullet enhances spin times and responsiveness, making it suitable for executing more advanced tricks compared to its predecessor, the Woodbullet. The yo-yo was available in clear or semi-clear color options, including gold and gray.

The Metalbullet (and Woodbullet) were released in Japan only and was not widely available in other regions of the world, such as North America. Today, in 2024, this model is somewhat challenging to find, even on the aftermarket in Japan.
