In 2010, Bandai collaborated with Duncan to release the Woodbullet yo-yo as part of their Hyper Yo-Yo series in Japan. This model was a rebranded version of Duncan's ProYo, tailored for the Japanese market.
The Woodbullet featured a wooden axle sleeve. The axle was integral to the yo-yo's performance, offering a responsive experience that was ideal for looping tricks. Over time, with extensive use, wooden axles can wear down, potentially affecting performance. Therefore, having spare wooden axles, like those seen in this exhibit, was beneficial for maintaining optimum yo-yo looping performance.
Bandai offered an upgrade kit that let you convert the Woodbullet into a Metalbullet. This involved replacing the wooden axle with a ball-bearing system, enhancing spin times and enabling more advanced tricks.
