The Duncan ProFly, as its name suggested, was the wing-shaped version of the Duncan ProYo, retaining the pairing of a fixed wooden axle. This design, with its wide string gap, provided a soft, smooth play feel, making basic tricks a breeze. It shared the ProYo’s vibrant selection of colors and cap designs, making it a must-have for collectors, especially at its affordable price. The caps were removable for a personalized touch. Wooden axles required proper maintenance—users would break them in by removing the string, looping it around the axle, and pulling it off about 10 times, or sanding the axle’s surface. String replacement was also a regular necessity. Each purchase included a CD-ROM of "String Tricks, Volume 1."
Covered by US patent 5,769,686 that expired July 29, 2016.
Despite the copyright date of 2007 on the card back, the side cap design on this model actually came out in 2008. See the Duncan 2008 product catalog.
