Cherrio Gold Award shield patch made out of black felt fabric and printed with yellow ink. Patch is from the late 1950s or early 1960s and came from Canada. Unlike other patches from around the same time period, this version did not have a vinyl backing on it that meant you could iron it onto a garment. Instead, you could sew the patch it onto a shirt, if so desired.
It is more common to find the ink print poorly aligned on these patches. Finding patch prints that are centered properly top to bottom and left to right is more challenging to find.
