Of all the Bees produced by Playmaxx, this is one of the most sought after versions. Killer Bees were only given away as prizes at Proyo yo-yo contests, and the majority were given away overseas in Asian countries.
In construction, it is just like a standard bee, but with special "Killer" sides, and in a unique red brick color. The owner of Playmaxx, Tom Van Dan Elzen, tried to match the red to an older original Pro-Yo molded by Don Duncan Jr. But the recipe had been long lost, and could not be matched. So to make these, old original Pro-Yos in red brick were gathered, ground up, and re-molded, to create the Killer Bee run. | |
