The Hi-Tech Revolution Da Bomb, limited yo-yo was released in October 1998, a few weeks before Halloween. Unlike the regular edition, which came with neon yellow body halves, the limited edition shown here has an all-black body. According to collector information, one black version was supposedly packed per case, although the number of yo-yos in each case is unknown.

Hi-Tech Revolution Yo-Yos were produced by Team Losi in the late 1990s during the modern yo-yo boom. Team Losi was best known for its radio-controlled model cars, and the company applied the same precision-engineering approach to its yo-yo line. The result was a series of performance-oriented yo-yos designed for both casual players and serious trick enthusiasts.

Notable models in the Hi-Tech Revolution line included the Cherry Bomb, limited, Da Bomb, and the Grim Sleeper, limited.

These yo-yos shared several performance features:

• Adjustable string gap: Players could change the gap between the yo-yo halves to suit different trick styles and skill levels.

• ABEC-3 bearing: The bearing helped provide smooth spins and longer sleep times for advanced tricks.

• Durable construction: The yo-yos were built for regular play and consistent performance.

The Hi-Tech Revolution series gave players reliable, adjustable yo-yos at a time when trick play was rapidly expanding. The Da Bomb, limited stands out nowadays as a scarcer variant because of its all-black body and its association with the late-1990s yo-yo boom.

Original retail price: $15 USD.
