The Yi Chenghao Loop Space is a glow-in-the-dark, ball-bearing yo-yo designed for looping play. Released in September 2024, it is a custom model based on Yi Chenghao's earlier Wind Ball yo-yo.
Compared with the Wind Ball, the Loop Space uses fine-tuned spacers and revised body material. It has a slightly wider gap and adjusted return response, giving it a different feel during looping play. The teal version is luminescent and glows dimly in the dark, although the brightness varies depending on lighting conditions and the surrounding environment.
The original Wind Ball was Yi Chenghao’s second looping model, following the Blitz Ball. It was developed after Chenghao’s 2018 Asian Championship win and features a plastic body, metal spacers, and shim-based adjustability. The body was refined around the starburst response area to improve sleep time and reduce spin loss. Its gap is slightly wider than that of the Blitz Ball, making it more sleep-oriented while still supporting looping play.
The Loop Space includes six shims in three thicknesses, letting players adjust the yo-yo's response by changing shim placement. Its spacers are not compatible with the Blitz Ball.
In its factory setup, the bearings were dry and required oiling according to player preference. The preinstalled Yi Chenghao string is very thin and could break from frictional heat. YoYoRewind store recommended applying oil under the bearing on the axle and on the string near the bearing, where the string twist begins.
