From recessintl.com: "Firecracker - Black Bat edition is a modern responsive yo-yo by Recess International. Designed for players who enjoy a slimmer yo-yo with the option for tug-response, but can also handle modern tricks and multiple layers of string with ease. Firecracker plays both sides.
The rubber-shielded flat bearing helps ensure it stays lubed and responsive. The rubber on the shields fills in the gaps that normal metal shields leave open for lube to escape.
Stock with a rubber-shielded lubed bearing, also includes one unresponsive grooved bearing."
The "Black Bat" engraving, featuring the face of an excruciatingly cute, furry bat, was designed by Coffin Nachtmahr. I've nicknamed the bat "Tim". It appears to have been based on the original 1970s logo design used by the "Black Cat" brand of firecrackers.
The Black Bat edition was limited to 40 pieces. The remaining four different colorways (Space Loot, Light Blue, Chocolate/Mint Fade, and Purple/Highlighter/Aqua Acid Wash) were also limited to 40 pieces each. Total run was 200 pieces on it's debut.
