From hspin.com:
"We are exceptionally proud and excited to relaunch HSPIN with this 25th anniversary update of the first yo-yo we ever released!
The 'Handquake 1.4' was HSPIN's first EVER yoyo, launched in 1998. It was inspired by Tom Kuhn's Silver Bullet 2, with a miniature bearing, custom axle and a gap width adjustable by adding shims. It was perfection in its infancy, and the foundation for us to become a Swiss boutique yoyo designer.
For HSPIN's 25th anniversary, we wanted to give the Handquake a time warp of development, so we added to it pretty much everything we have learned in 25 years of designing an array of convention-defying yo-yos.
The Handquake 2 therefore sports HSPIN's iconic 5Ă—11Ă—5 bearing and the axle nut first introduced with the Good&Evil, the invincible M3 axle and the shmoove of the PYRO, and recessed friction pads which the Good&Evil 2 world-premiered. The Handquake 2 comes with two interchangeable bearings to allow for a 3mm gap for old school play and a 5mm gap for unresponsive modern play.
The HANDQUAKE 2 is an outstanding every-day yo-yo to carry with you at work or school. It even fits into your suit pocket without bulging.
HSPIN would like to thank Hadrien B. for year-long support and realizing the technical drawings for this release.
Manufactured and assembled in Bremgarten, Switzerland.
Meet the Handquake 2 - Working Breakfast edition:
We packed 25 years of yo-yo development into our first ever yo-yo!
The Handquake 2 is an exceptionally smooth yo-yo, versatile for both beginners and advanced players thanks to the interchangeable ball bearings.
In 1998, we launched the first Handquake yo-yo, with a miniature bearing, custom axle and a gap width adjustable by adding shims. It was perfection in its infancy.
The Handquake 2 we launch in 2024 embodies 25 years of experience in designing convention-defying yo-yos.
All our yoyos are produced in very small, quality-controllable production runs.
Made in Switzerland since 1997
The 'HSPIN' yo-yos have been made in Switzerland since the first Handquake prototype in 1997. We believe in long-term relationships with our manufacturers as this allows us to grow with them from good to great, and it inspires innovation mutually. For example, we were the first to launch a bimetallic yo-yo with weight rings in 1998, which was a supplier innovation. Gold-plating the PYRO as well as our unique foam packaging are the brain children of our CNC partners. Florian and Paul have been crafting our yo-yos since 2007.
Take better breaks. Solve bigger problems.
At HSPIN, we design and produce superior quality yo-yos as recreational devices to provide you with exceptional regeneration of your mind to better solve your biggest problems.
25 years!
OMG. We have been around for 25 years. We started off as students, assembling yo-yos in our university flats, carrying boxes by tram to the nearest post office. Later we ran HSPIN through a network of supporters and partners, from our Blackberries and iPhones from wherever in the world we were at the time. HSPIN always remained in Switzerland.
Giving back
HSPIN has always given back. In the 1990s, we invested whatever profits we had into producing more and better yo-yos. In the 2000s and 2010s we continued to do so, but also sponsored contests and funded the HSPIN Team with players from around the World: USA, Japan, Czech Republic, Poland, England… Today, we donate 2% to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
F.U.L.L. Warranty
For all our products we provide a 'fair use limited lifetime' warranty. If something in our control isn't working as it should, we help you resolve it, for example, by providing spare parts or replacing components as long as stocks last, or by providing a fair, equivalent solution.
HSPIN is a Swiss brand. We are registered in Andermatt, the heart of Switzerland."
