The Japan Technology–Bryan Figueroa–Chibi Trueno debuted Friday, August 18, 2023 in Osaka, Japan at the World Yo-Yo Contest 2023 (WYYC2023). It was originally sold at the WYYC2023 in acorn capsules (also known as gashapon capsules) and limited to one per person, per transaction. It was issued as a miniature novelty version of Japan Technology's full-size 4A (offstring yo-yo play) Trueno, the signature model of Brian Figueroa, a six-time US National Champion in 4A.

"Although this model is expensive (about $20 more than the full-size Trueno model), it is not a proper off-string yo-yo.
If you want to seriously practice off-string yo-yo, please purchase the [Japan Technology] Amuletto Pro model.
There is nothing particularly good about this model other than being "fun" and "cute".
The bearing gap is about the same as the JT off string model, but due to the balance with the weight of the body, it works best with ultra thin strings (sold separately).
The "Chibi TRUENO Challenge" will be held at the WYYC2023 to see if it is possible to play off string with an off string model that is overwhelmingly unsuitable for off stringing! The manufacturer says it is "not a proper off-string yo-yo" (according to the manufacturer).
However, there is something cute about it that makes us want to play with it! It tickles the spirit of challenge."
