Made from machined polycarbonate, the purple, glow in the dark SHOOTiNG STAR is considered a high-end, beginner plastic yo-yo from iYoYo of Germany. What makes this yo-yo "high-end" is the inclusion of a size C, half spec bearing for original, tug response play, and a size C, full spec Pixel bearing for dead response play.
Modeled after the popular iYoYo iCEBERG CLASSiC and also machined out of polycarbonate cores, the SHOOTiNG STAR was designed to cover your yo-yo journey from the beginning to your first bind yo-yo.
It comes configured, out-of-the-box, for original (tub) response, just like how yo-yos have played for more more than 90 years. Perfect for learning how to make the yo-yo sleep and perform string tricks like Trapeze, Elevator, and Brain Twister, Around the World, Rock the Baby, Walk the Dog, and so many more.
By swapping out the pre-installed bearing for the included Pixel bearing, you can convert the yo-yo to require a bind response from you instead of a tug response.
At that point, one of the first tricks you need to learn under this configuration is how to bind the yo-yo to have it return to your hand. Binding is a modern development in yo-yo play that began in the early twenty aughts. The technique opens another world of playing styles and string trick possibilities, but it looks much less like original yo-yo play that most people are familiar with from their youth.
The SHOOTiNG STAR is one yo-yo that crosses two playing styles, all without the need to have two different yo-yos. You can focus on string tricks and, when you are ready, tricks that require a bind. Notice, too, that the silver center hub area is shaped to accept fingerspins. This design means that you can easily perform popular string tricks such as DNA.
