The super light (about 18 grams!) Monochrome Panda Yo-Yo is a budget-friendly yo-yo designed to appeal to children through its cute panda character and easy-to-use fixed-axle yo-yo design. It definitelly reflects the Japanese trend of turning everyday objects into character merchandise. While not at all a performance-grade yo-yo, it’s certainly a charming collectible for fans of whimsical toy packaging and painfully cute aesthetics. Manufactured in China but the yo-yo was planned or distributed by Ooin Co., Ltd., based in Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

The slogan on the front, top of the card says, "Let's have fun with a cute panda!" On the side cap, the panda is lying on its back sleeping. The speech bubble says, "Zzz" and the caption reads: "I fell asleep..."

The back, top of the card includes a comic-style top section with 3 pandas saying the following, left to right: "Huff... huff... did I get on it?", "Munch munch... it’s yummy!", and "ZZZ... I fell asleep."

Yo-yo is likely the early 2000s-mid 2010s, based on packaging style and barcode format.

Original retail price: 100Â¥-300Â¥ (about $1-3 USD at the time).
