The Go-Yo Galaxy is a plastic, fixed-axle yo-yo produced by Russell Yo-Yo and distributed by go fly a kite, inc. of East Haddam, Connecticut. Built with a birch axle, it was designed for responsive looping play—much like the classic Coca-Cola yo-yos also manufactured by Jack Russell. The swirling "galaxy" graphic on its side caps was the first custom design created specifically for go fly a kite’s Go-Yo line.
Packaged in an A-frame blister pack, the yo-yo included a paper insert featuring Canadian champion "Fast Eddy" McDonald, who at the time held two Guinness World Records: 21,663 loops in three hours (October 14, 1990) and 8,437 loops in one hour (July 14, 1990). The marketing copy on the insert implied that Fast Eddy achieved those feats with the same model yo-yo, adding to the toy’s appeal.
Manufactured in Bangladesh in 2002, the Galaxy was part of a broader Go-Yo series that also included the Fast Eddy Shooter, Tempest, Yo-2K, and Blade models.
