"Doctor Popular's The Thing (Doc Pop edition) came set up for modern responsive play. Each one comes with a narrow bearing (half spec, size C) that is packed with silicone grease. These yo-yos are durable and snappy, perfect for responsive counterweight play.
If you ordered your Doc Pop Edition Thing on Friday March 3, 2023, Doc Pop threw in a free red Lil Beeb counterweight.
The Thing, version 2.0 from 2021 was a slim yo-yo designed for responsive play by Toybania of Mumbai, India. I’m a huge fan of The Thing and have been heavily using it while developing my style of responsive counterweight tricks. This special “Doc Pop Edition” of the Thing is based on the original Thing shape, but with titanium hubs in the center! These Doc Pop editions of The Thing are available in red with silver hubs or yellow with blue hubs and features the Doc Pop logo on the hubs. I’ve gone through and greased all of these Doc Pop editions to make sure they all play the way I like them right out of the box.
I also have a few Things available in black plastic with purple hubs ($45 US). These are the same design and titanium hubs, but don’t have the Doc Pop logo and don’t come greased. I left these bearing stock (ungreased) for folks who might want less responsive options."
