May 6, 2008 - First, we have Rage's baby: Mary. Raytsh [sounds like "rage"; screen name of Frank Orben of Germany and owner of ILYY] absolutely loves powerful, classic-shaped yo-yos. That’s why he came up with a real old schoolish shape and monster rims. They’ll blow you away! By the way, based on the high level of innovation, M.A.R.Y. stands in a self ironic way for: 'Most Anticipated Rudimentary Yo-yo'.
June 22, 2008 - All this color! Mary Prototype Batch. Finally, our color samples made their way back from the anodizer. We’re totally happy with how they turned out. We call this our "Candy Blast Finish." Metallic looks, amazing grindability but easy on strings. [The] Mary features an epic autumn red.
July 28, 2008 - They're done! It's been a long time, but Wasabi and Mary are finally done. They will leave for anodization processes tomorrow.

July 29, 2008 - Who needs a laser anyways? I [Frank Orben] always wanted to have some yo-yos engraved. But not via laser. I mean the real stuff. Look what I came up with! There are no plans of a big release. But we'll see what the future brings."
According to production data on the ilyy.de website, the Mary in this exhibit was Proto #1 (engraved) that came out sometime in July 2008. Two were produced. The letter engravings found on the yo-yo were supposedly done by hand by ILYY founder Mr. Frank "Raytsh" Orben. [Rick: This seems unlikely because the duplicate letters engraved on the yo-yo (a, y, and r) are perfectly aligned and identical in size, shape, and style.] One halve was engraved inside the cup area with mary and ilyy. The opposite halve was engraved in the cup with by and raytsh; the female silhouette on the outer perimeter of one rim was laser engraved. Came in a red velvet drawstring bag, branded with "I[heart symbol]YOYO" and instruction sheet.
