A throwback to simpler times.
Everyone has that one yo-yo that ends up changing their life in a big way, and for me, that yo-yo was a yo-yo I obtained in early 2008. I remember just finally having enough funds to get something brand new from Dave's Skill Toys. I came across a yo-yo that stood out to me for some reason. It was from a company I had never heard of, and looked very different from other options of the time. I took the jump, and ended up loving it to death. The Hicoo West Uranium Black was the yo-yo that I carried with me for years, both making videos with it as well as competing with it multiple times. I knew when I started a company that one day I would pay tribute to that yo-yo that changed my yo-yo life for the better.
It is now that time.
We at Knot Creators are proud to release our take on that classic yo-yo that we are calling West Coast.
The West Coast takes the design attributes of the original West Uranium Black but adds some modern features such as a standardized large bearing, modern response system, slightly lowered inner wall, and a blasted finish.
The name “West Coast” pays tribute to my own upbringing in the yoyo scene of the west coast and the good times of trick creating and fun during the later mid-school era when yoyo tricks were very much about experimentation and fun. This yo-yo is meant to flow and play mellow to allow the player to relax and not push out tricks in a ultra competitive way. There was a certain feel the original West Uranium had when you played it, and I think we succeeded in creating a yo-yo with that same feeling."
