The Brady Bunch was an American sitcom created by Sherwood Schwartz that aired from September 26, 1969, to March 8, 1974, on ABC. The series revolved around a large blended family with six children: three boys and three girls. The after-school show aired for five seasons. In 1974, the series was cancelled and later went into syndication September 1975. Though it was never a ratings hit or a critical success (at least among adults) during its original run, the program has since become a syndicated staple. The reruns are especially popular among children and teenage viewers, and adults who grew up with the series.
During the series' original run, the six Brady kids recorded several albums on Paramount's record label, all credited to "The Brady Bunch." Florence Henderson (as Carol Brady, the mother), and Robert Reed (as Mike Brady, the father), did not participate in the recordings, and are not pictured on the album sleeves or sheet music. While session musicians provided backing on the songs, the actors provided their own singing voices. None of the singles from The Brady Bunch, or any single or album from the assorted spin-off acts, ever became hits on any national music charts. The group's 1972 album Meet The Brady Bunch (a superficial take on the Beatles first US released album Meet the Beatles) was their only charting release, reaching #108 on Billboard's album charts.
