Here is an interesting modified Freehand Zero. It started as a clear Zero. Glass dye was used on the inside surfaces of the yo-yo, giving the whole yo-yo a high gloss glassy look. As if it is made of stained glass. The dark blue looks almost black at some angles, and more blue at others.

It has been machined around the axle for silicon grooves or response ring. But only on one side. This was a great mod, because you could play it either with silicon, recessed stickers, or friction stickers.
