Pronounced KOO-YO star. The Kuyostar featured a free spinning catch zone that let players hold the yo-yo by its center hubs (the white portion in the picture) while it spun. The wide spinning catch zone is called a V5. Despite this model's unique playing style innovation, the yo-yo design--along with its direct successor, the YoYoFactory Nine Dragons--never really seemed to catch on with most players. Design was by Chen Jialin of China.
