Original Donald F. Duncan, Inc. 1950s wooden yo-yo (in Duncan "33" style), button pin, miniature pennant, and spare string. Purchased from Bird In Hand located in Chico, CA in 1997. Came as a package with all the items that you see in this exhibit.
The National Yo-Yo Museum in Chico, California has on display many fine examples of Duncan products and awards over the years. Many items were donated by the Duncan family. The Smithsonian, National Museum of American History, Archives Center, in Washington, D.C. is home also to the "Duncan Family Yo-Yo Collection, 1928-2002". The entire collection was donated by Donald F. Duncan, Jr. shortly before his untimely death in June, 2003 from an auto accident. It contains the corporate archives of the Duncan Yo-Yo Company, including business and financial records, advertising, photographs, scrapbooks, training films, promotional material, and printed material. The entire collection amounts to 14 cubic feet (or about 40 file-type boxes).
