This is the Royal Tournament jeweled chevron golden anniversary edition. After a 35+ year absence from the yo-yo scene, Royal returned to business on Saturday, April 15, 2000 and this yo was their initial release. The first 50 were set aside for Tom Radovan's family; the first 100 sold thereafter were autographed by Tom Radovan, son of Joe Radovan, founder of Royal Tops in the mid 1930s.
This yo-yo came in red, blue, green, or black. Stamped logo includes the 5-point crown that Royals are famous for having. At each of the 3 points on the chevron, there is embedded a 4.55 mm clear jewel, imported from Austria. Gold leaf stamped, hardwood, tournament shaped. Individually numbered on reverse side. Came with a numbered certificate of authenticity, and was presented in a sturdy, clear, plexi-glass display box (originally made to house baseballs).
