The Tom Kuhn No Jive 3 in 1 - The Neiman–Marcus YoYo.

A special retailer edition of Tom Kuhn’s No Jive 3 in 1 model, the first modern, take-apart wooden yo-yo that converts between imperial, butterfly, and pagoda configurations.

Each halve is deeply laser-carved with a distinctive large diameter geometric motif and the legend The Neiman-Marcus YOYO on both sides. Honey-stained hard-maple halves; balanced, crisp machining typical of early No Jive production. Note the flat aluminum hex nuts in the hub area. A key diagnostic in dating the yo-yo.

Produced circa 1979–1980, during the early years of No Jive production. There are period accounts that often cite this Neiman-Marcus model among Tom Kuhn’s personal favorites. Today (2026), the yo-yo remains scarce on the secondary market, making intact boxed examples even more desirable.
