Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

The YOFO was born from a collaborative effort between Canada's Sochi Company and China's LEP (Lab Exploration Program), both accessed in March 2023. The name "YOFO" echoes the sound of "UFO," a nod to the yo-yo’s futuristic design.
Unlike most yo-yos on the market, the YOFO featured a unique construction with bearing locks on both sides of the body — an unusual approach not commonly attempted by other yo-yo brands. This design allows each half to be flipped and reassembled, transforming the yo-yo into different shapes and performance profiles. The patented design is complemented by custom 1.1mm pads and a 16mm axle, both developed by Sochi.
The concept behind YOFO was simple: Sochi wanted anyone to be able to perform DNA tricks — whether spinning on the ground or on the hand — at any time. At the same time, the yo-yo can be reconfigured for traditional tricks, offering both versatility and innovation in one sleek package.

About Sochi from sochicompany.com:
"This company was founded when Luckey Li realized that he needed better, yet cheaper equipment as a competitor. He’s a 5-time Canadian National Champion, and has also held the international division titles for Europe, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and the U.S. During the winter season of 2018, Luckey presented the idea of creating his own equipment company to his friend, Josef Chung, and asked if it was a good one or not. The answer was clear, and the company came to fruition. Over the next few months, Luckey worked with factories to find the best quality equipment he could, while keeping trying to keep the costs low. Sochi is a culmination of a strong background in professional level yo-yoing and the motivation to provide the community with better equipment. The company has been positively embraced throughout its existence so far, and for that we are grateful."
