Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!
If you're a manufacturer, or just a big collector and you want to help support the Museum drop me at line at chimera@yoyomuseum.com

The Duncan Freehand Zero - FH Zero with clear body and side caps and matte silver imprint.
Notice that Steve Brown's counterweight image is represented in the column of collectible counterweights pictured on the package front. Steve Brown was the inventor of the FreeHand yo-yo, and a Duncan employee in 2004, until he resigned from Duncan in April 2006. His counterweight head was replaced by the buck toothed Duncan Flying Squirrel head counterweight sometime after April 2006 or in 2007. That small detail can help you date, by year, FreeHand Zero models that included one of six character counterweights.
The FreeHand Zero was an updated and improved version of the original Duncan FreeHand. Size A ball bearing axle, take apart design, and Duncan Friction Stickers for response. The string gap was adjustable with two sets of included shims. A set of silver spacers (pre-installed) for a standard gap and original response/play. And, a set of brass spacers, seen to the left of the yo-yo, for a wide gap and dead response play. Also came with three collectible counterweights. In this case, the sculpted character head of Steve Brown, a blue rubber bouncy ball, and one blue die.
Original retail price: $18 USD. | |
