The Marchon Ribbon Spinnin' YoYo from 1992 is fundamentally identical to the Duncan - Yoffy (1983) ribbon yo-yo and the Imperial Toy Corporation - E-Z Go Ribbon Yo-Yo (1987). Unlike the Yoffy, the packaging of this model uses the term "YOYO".

Uses a flat, one inch wide ribbon for the "string". The back of the card included a Getting Started guide, patent numbers, and manufacturer information.

The Ribbon Spinnin' YoYo was covered by the following patents:
USA
• 4,290,224
• 4,442,625
• 4,492,057

Great Britain
• 2,125,305

Canada
• 1,223,734

Plastic body halves with a flat, one inch wide cloth ribbon pegged to the axle. The yo-yo was manufactured by a company called Marchon, Inc., an international toy manufacturing and marketing company. Marchon had substantial experience at sourcing toy products in the Far East. The business was established about 1982. In 1994 Marchon was acquired by Empire of Carolina, an American Stock Exchange company, and also a toy company. By November 2000, Empire Industries, Inc. filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. In July 2001, Empire sold their toy operations to Alpha International Inc.

Original retail price: $4 US.
