Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!
If you're a manufacturer, or just a big collector and you want to help support the Museum drop me at line at chimera@yoyomuseum.com

The Hectic splash edition was the second release in YoYoFactory's fundaMETAL series. Released in the early summer of 2009, the Hectic was the signature model of Jason Lee, the US 2001 1A division champion.
The Hectic came with a size C bearing, or a size A bearing. Some websites stocked both bearing size models, but most had just one or the other. A second release of the Hectic -- the splash version around 2010 -- came with a size C bearing only. The yo-yo model also had one other feature that no other YoYoFactory yo-yos had: a groove on the inner wall of the yo-yo (known as a schmoove -- see Internals image). The schmoove created less surface area, which in turn helped reduce friction while the yo-yo was spinning. It also helped to stabilize and correct the throw of a small bearing yo-yo.
Response pads that the yo-yo accepted were Kentaro pads, medium sized in the small bearing version and Turning Point K-pads, YoYoFactory 888-sized for the large bearing version.
Color of the model in this exhibit is side A: teal body/black splash, side B: black body/teal splash.
Original retail price: $65 US.
