The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

YoYoFactory's Loop 808 was Alex Garcia's signature yo-yo for 2A (looping) play. It was based on YoYoFactory's Loop 360 model that was also released about the same time.

Garcia was an original member of Team High Performance based out of Honolulu, Hawaii in the mid to late 1990s. Being a very talented and young demonstrator he, along with Dale Myrberg and others, visited Japan in 1996. Their demonstrations and promotions to Japanese adults and children helped spawn the amazing Hyper Yo-Yo boom that began in 1997. Within seven years, that boom became the seed bed for some of the most talented, award-winning yo-yo players in the world, which continues today in 2018.

Garcia won the U.S. National Yo-Yo Contest for 2A play in 1996 and 1998.

His signature yo-yo, the Loop 808, was named after Hawaii's telephone area code. Outside of the first version Technic yo-yo, this is my second most favorite looping yo-yo to use. It is very easy to control and has excellent looping response even for beginners. You customize the string gap by simply rotating the halves slightly.

See Alex Garcia in action using the Loop 808 (he swapped halves of green and red) at the 2012 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest.

This model also came in green.
