The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

The Moon Shine is the result of a cross-collaboration effort between CLYW (Canada) and YoYoFactory (USA), known as "Basecamp". Basecamp's first release was a set of three yo-yos: The Jackknife, Moon Shine, and Expedition. Originally, you could only buy (optionally) the Moon Shine yo-yo if you purchased both the Jackknife and Expedition yo-yos together. But a yo-yo website began selling them individually in September 2016, without the need to buy the other two yo-yos.

Out-of-the-box, the Moon Shine comes as an original tug response yo-yo with a narrow string gap and high inner walls. The tug response uses a M4 x 8mm axle and a half-spec bearing. The box also included one M4 x 10mm axle and a size C bearing to upgrade (or downgrade, depending on your point-of-view) the yo-yo to dead response.

Original retail price: $45 US
