The Jo-Joptik (or Optic Yo-Yo) made in Switzerland, optic print designed by Hirotoshi Tajiri, and marketed by the company (Kurt) Naef in Switzerland.
There were four optical designs in this series with each yo-yo using the same flat, wide diameter body attached to a nylon string that had a small wooden black ball on the end.
Because there is a different optical design on each side, the product literature simply refers to each yo-yo as A, B, C, and D. See the "Design Sheet" image in this exhibit. These wooden yo-yos functioned more as a visual novelty.
Kurt Naef (1926-2006), a Swiss native, devoted more than 60 years of his life to the material of wood. First, as an apprenticed carpenter and later, as a designer of wooden toys. The toys are what he became known for around the world.
