They set out to make a plastic yo-yo that matched the performance of their aluminum models. The Rally features anodized aluminum weight rings, and a very smooth machined plastic finish designed for grinding. The Rally uses Flow Groove pads and a 10-ball bearing, along with a custom machined nut and insert that are not designed to be removed (they are not part of the Side Effects axle system).
