MER stands for Mid-East Regionals, one of the larger contest on the way to Nationals. This FreeHand Zero was released to commemorate the event, and sold only at the contest. Only 150 of these were made, but extra side caps were also made and sold. So MER FreeHand Zeros in other colors may appear from time to time, as well as sets of unused side caps.
Like most collectibles, yo-yos are worth more and are more desireable to collectors if they are still sealed in the original packages. That is why this one is pictured though the package bubble.
