Playmaxx ran a short test run of a new memory plastic that they planned to use on the upcoming Stunt Pilot release, and the Bee GT mold was used for the test run. No dye was used in the test run for "Proyonium", a plastic that is literally bullet proof.

One evening in Chimera's Yo-Yo Chat, part of Dave's Yo-Yo Talk web board, the owner of Playmaxx and several members of the Yo-Yo Collective Club thought of this idea. Scarecrow, Matt Carter, quickly made this artwork and the Albino Bee was born. The character on the logo is a bee version of Duncan demonstrator Steve Brown.

Only 12 to 15 of these were ever assembled, and never sold. The owner of Playmaxx gave them to friends and Yo-Yo Collective members. It quickly became one of the hottest collectibles from the Playmaxx era. The Albino Bee is a essentially a Bee GT made from natural Proyonium halves, with a special limited logo from Scarecrow.
