American Spinners began producing yo-yos in the late 80s, when the Smother's Brothers Yo-Yo Man routine created a boom.

The company sought to produce a high quality one piece yo-yo, like from the golden days of yo-yoing. They developed an interesting shape, and all of their models except one, were made with the standard blank. Some had jewels, some fancier paint jobs like this one, but all the same shape. The raised logo side had an interesting effect... the yo-yo could be thrown and caught on the logo face, creating new trick possibilities.
