Bandai Hyper Yo-Yo - Yomega Hyper Brain

The Yomega Hyper Brain from 1997 was licensed by Bandai of Japan for their Hyper Yo-Yo series. This model was just one of many others from Yomega, Duncan, and YoYoFactory that helped fuel the incredible yo-yo craze of the late 1990s. The yo-yo featured a unique "Brain" technology, allowing it to return automatically to your hand after a trick. It gained popularity in Japan for its advanced performance and innovative design.

The U.S. and Japanese versions of the Yomega Hyper Brain were produced by Yomega in the USA. The primary differences between them often involved packaging and branding, rather than significant variations in design or performance. Both versions featured the same "Brain" techology.

The model in this exhibit features a modified body in an all translucent green color with silver printed text, and brain white actuators.

From yoyostorerewind.com
"Nowadays, there are many yo-yos that have plenty of spin just from dropping them and letting them dangle on the end of the string, but back in the day the learning curve for yo-yos was much steeper, making it tough to progress to more difficult tricks without first learning how to properly throw the yo-yo. Because the Brain immediately returns to your hand without sleeping if you don't throw it properly, this is a great trainer to help you learn how to properly sleep a yo-yo. The most fundamental trick to learn.

If you are having trouble getting the yo-yo to return to you, check to make sure the string is wrapped around the axle three times. This goes for all auto-return models. If the string isn't properly wrapped three times around the transaxle, the auto-return function will not work. Always be sure to do this when changing strings!"
