From taitdesignco.com: (2013-2023)
"HEY YO! Ooooooooweee, this is some premium stuff right here my friends! Not your standard bandalore, you'll be walking the schnauzer and sleeping for days with this handmade yo-yo. Sling-Slang features a hand-turned hard maple body with a removable grooved steel axle that makes strings tricks easier and knot removal a thing of the past! Match your outfit with one of the two polyester strings included. That's what's up! And down."

This release appears more of an exercise in packaging design than in yo-yo design. A very "green" box. Assembled in Michigan. Made of solid hard rock maple. They are calling the shape of the yo-yo "classic geometric". Has a fixed string gap, removable grooved steel axle shaft, and "environmentally friendly Velcro-Lock cardboard case". The yo-yo is natural nude (no finish at all) but it has a black printed logo—"Tait YoYo"—on the sides. Because of the printing on the yo-yo's face, they call the color of the yo-yo itself "classic black". Other colors produced were Azure Blue and Fandango Pink.

Released December 2014

Original retail price: $30 US. By 2023, just before going out of business, the price dropped to $15 US.

About Tait Design
Tait Design Company created limited-run handmade art and collectibles. They were the design efforts of Matthew Tait, a Michigan-based multi-disciplined designer and artist. All materials were sourced from the USA. His home studio was in Detroit, Michigan.

About Matthew Tait
"My name is Matthew Tait and I am currently living in Detroit, MI. I went to school to become a graphic designer, but my interests and skill-set are closer to that of an industrial designer or an engineer gone rogue. I've been passionate about building things for as long as I can remember. When I was younger my favorite thing was when something broke in the house and my parents would give it to me to take apart. I'm obsessed with the inner workings of the objects around us, how they were manufactured, where the source materials come from, and how the end user interacts with them.

In 2013, after years of working in advertising developing and designing websites, apps, and traditional campaigns, I decided to start my own side project. Knowing that my interests are constantly evolving and changing, I wanted the company from the very beginning to have a wide enough concept to accommodate anything I would come up with, thus TAIT Design Co."
