Established in 1996, Team High Performance (THP) represented yo-yo players who demonstrated mastery of the highest level of yo-yo tricks. In addition, student members must do well academically, and remain in a professional attitude at all THP events.

THP dominated World and National yo-yo competition in the mid to late 90s. THP champions included 1998 World 2-Handed Champion Jennifer Baybrook ("2A" play was not yet a competition category), 1998 U.S. National 2-Handed Champion Alex Garcia, and 1998 U.S. National Single-A Champion Sky Kiyabu.
